Our classic Hunter Valley wine tour from Newcastle collects guests from their Newcastle address and drives roughly an hour each way to reach wine country. It’s a brilliant day, and it’s not going anywhere. But if you’re already staying in Cessnock, Pokolbin, Lovedale, Nulkaba or Allandale, that round trip to Newcastle never quite made sense.
The new Boutique Hunter Valley Wine Tour: Local Pickup solves exactly that. We collect you from your Hunter Valley accommodation and have you at your first cellar door in minutes. Because there’s no Newcastle leg, the price drops to $199 per person — a saving of $30 on the $229 Newcastle pickup fare.
Here’s the best part: you’re on the very same tour. Local-pickup guests share the van with our Newcastle guests, so you get the identical small-group experience, the same expert local guide, the same hand-picked cellar doors — just a shorter, cheaper start to your day.

This is a full day of the Hunter Valley at its best, capped at just 11 guests for a relaxed, personal experience. Your ticket includes:
- Three seated wine tastings at hand-picked cellar doors, from iconic Australian labels to family-run estates
- An artisan vodka and gin tasting, showcasing the craft behind the region’s award-winning spirits
- A paired food tasting — local cheese, chocolate or small bites, to show how food transforms the flavours of wine
- Door-to-door pickup and drop-off from your Hunter Valley accommodation
- A knowledgeable local guide sharing relaxed, insightful commentary all day
Our regular itinerary features cellar doors such as Hungerford Hill, Audrey Wilkinson Vineyard and Hunter Wine Lab, with an artisan spirits stop at Small Mouth Vodka. We pause for lunch at 4 Pines at The Farm, where you can settle in for a relaxed à la carte meal (at your own cost) overlooking the vines. Prefer everything sorted in advance? Add a lunch and beverage package at checkout. Venues occasionally rotate with the seasons, so the exact lineup may vary, but the quality never does.
