About the NTIG Awards
The NTIG Awards are a celebration of excellence in Newcastle’s visitor economy. They recognise businesses and individuals driving innovation, delivering exceptional visitor experiences, and helping shape the future of tourism across the region, from Newcastle through to the Hunter Valley, Port Stephens and beyond.
To be recognised in both of the categories we were nominated for was humbling and energising in equal measure. It’s a testament to the love, energy and passion we’ve poured into Newy Tour Co since launching in 2023.

Emerging Hospitality & Tourism Leader: Keira Bourke
Our second award, Emerging Hospitality & Tourism Leader, was proudly awarded to our founder and director, Keira Bourke. With a background in global travel and more than 90 countries under her belt, Keira returned home with a vision to create boutique travel experiences that highlight the best of her hometown.
Since launching Newy Tour Co, Keira has built an award-winning business and become a passionate advocate for the region’s growth in the international visitor economy. From attending major travel trade events like ATE, to appearing live on national TV with Destination NSW, Keira continues to shine a spotlight on the incredible experiences waiting here on the NSW coast.

These awards represent real momentum for Newcastle’s growing reputation as a must visit destination in Australia. With an international terminal set to open at Newcastle Airport in 2025, the spotlight on our region is only getting brighter.
