At Newy Tour Co, we showcase the best of Newcastle and the Hunter region to visitors from across Australia and around the world. Our boutique tours blend local insight with premium experiences, from coastlines and city secrets to wineries and wildlife. We’re known for being friendly, knowledgeable and professional, and we’re looking for guides who share that energy.
What we’re looking for
We’re seeking casual / on-call tour guides who:
- Are familiar with Newcastle and the surrounding regions and have a genuine passion for sharing them with others.
- Can learn tour scripts and deliver commentary in an engaging, upbeat and personable way.
- Are comfortable speaking to groups, answering questions and creating memorable experiences for guests.
- Can confidently manage group logistics, timing and guest safety.
- Demonstrate strong communication and storytelling skills.
- Show excellent customer service and professionalism.
- Have weekend availability, with additional ad hoc shifts offered on weekdays during cruise season and event periods.
Desirable experience and qualifications
- Previous tour-guiding experience.
- Good knowledge of wine.
- Light Rigid (LR) licence and NSW Bus Driver Authority.
- First Aid Certificate.
The role
- Casual positions: work will be offered as tours are scheduled.
- Ideal for those seeking flexible, occasional work in tourism.
- Competitive hourly or day rates depending on experience and qualifications.
- Training, scripts and familiarisation provided.
