At Newy Tour Co, we believe that showcasing our region goes hand in hand with protecting the incredible wildlife that makes Australia so special. That’s why we’re proud to have donated two tickets to our Discover Newcastle Tour to support Aussie Ark as part of the Strong Start for Aussie Wildlife fundraising auction.
Aussie Ark is a not-for-profit conservation organisation dedicated to saving some of Australia’s most endangered native animals from extinction. Based in the Barrington Tops region near Newcastle, their work focuses on breeding, protecting and reintroducing threatened species into predator-free environments where they can thrive safely in the wild.
The organisation is best known for its ambitious insurance populations program, which helps protect species such as the Tasmanian devil, eastern quoll, southern brown bandicoot and long-nosed potoroo. By creating secure sanctuaries free from feral predators, Aussie Ark is helping to reverse population declines and safeguard Australia’s biodiversity for future generations.
The Strong Start for Aussie Wildlife auction raises vital funds to support this important work, from animal care and habitat protection to long-term conservation research. We were honoured to contribute to this initiative by donating an experience that introduces visitors to Newcastle’s history, coastline and culture, while also helping protect the natural environment that surrounds our city.
Our Discover Newcastle Tour is designed to give guests a deeper understanding of the region, from its convict beginnings and industrial heritage to its thriving beach culture and wildlife-rich coastline. Supporting a local conservation charity like Aussie Ark felt like a natural fit with our values and our commitment to responsible tourism.
